ECY – Coronavirus Safety Measures

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Safety Measures

Dear ECY student,

While we agree with the Scottish Government advice that states the risk of contracting COVID-19 is currently low-moderate, we acknowledge that a yoga class brings us in close proximity to other people and contact with shared mats and props, and that this is an evolving situation.

In order to reduce the risk of transmission, we would ask you to please wash your hands with soap and hot water before and after practice, and/or use the hand gel provided. We also strongly encourage everyone to please use the mat cleaners provided if using one of our studio mats. Additionally, please follow current advice from the government, as stated:

‘People have a vital role to play in helping us contain any outbreak by following the latest health and travel advice, and following basic hygiene precautions, such as washing hands frequently, not touching their face and covering their nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing, and then putting tissues directly into the bin.’

If you are at all concerned about your health, are experiencing any cold/flu like symptoms, and have recently travelled to any of the countries considered at risk, please do not come to class, and consult with the current NHS advice.

We will continue to closely follow the situation, and will update as and when advice changes.

Thank you so much for your cooperation and understanding – if you have any questions, queries or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch at admin@edinburghcommunityyoga.co.uk
