Description:

Demystifying the chakras

What if we could think of the chakras as a system for making sense of what we don’t yet truly understand? As humans we look for patterns and systems to make sense of our emotions, thoughts, behaviours and experiences and if we can accept that we have an energetic element to our being then maybe we can use the philosophy of the chakras as a mode to help guide this energy into healing or assisting us.

Some of us move from the heart, others have their head in the clouds, some live via their external connections, others by instinct or by intuition, some rely on grounded day to day experience while others need a higher power to guide them. Ideally we need a little of it all to allow for a rich and varied life, so understanding where your tendencies lie, where you hold blocks and how to work with the chakras can help us to find this for ourselves.

It doesn’t have to be mystical or full of pseudoscience. Nature shows us that we must first grow roots and nurture ourselves before we can reach out and connect to others, before we can reach our true potential, In order to rise we must first be rooted.

Join Lorraine and Laura and explore through the transformative practices of yoga, mindfulness and meditation.

OUR YOGA RETREAT LOCATIONS

Inverliever Lodge

Inverliever Lodge

Nestled in the beautiful Scottish wilderness of Argyll the Eco Yoga Centre is a truly unique experience. Totally off grid, the entire centre runs on its self- generated power, meaning you can enjoy indulgent and guilt free piping hot long baths and showers, and what baths they are! Alongside the extraordinary baths you can also enjoy the sauna, hot tub and plunge pool and for the more daring even a dip in the waterfall!

Their specially built yoga studio with under floor heating overlooking the River Liever is a truly spiritual place, only added to by the sound of the waterfall just below.

Accommodation is simple but luxurious. There is a choice of either one of the ten en-suite double bedrooms boasting enormous king sized beds (with the softest and most comfortable duvet and pillows you will ever have enjoyed!) en-suite facilities (sink and toilet), and a private seated area offering fantastic views around the site. Or the three bedroom bothy which also has king size beds but is not en-suite sharing the bathroom facilities between the three rooms. One of the bedrooms is an open plan bedroom/living area. In the bothy there is also space for two children so is perfect for friends sharing or a family. Throughout the centre there are also public areas to relax and get to know your fellow retreaters, and an enormous dining room in which to enjoy the fantastic, food offered. Eco Yoga Centre has recently featured in both The Guardian and The Scotsman.

However set within nine acres of woodland and boasting a riverside rose garden and outdoor bar area once you arrive you would never dream you were so close to civilisation.

Offering beautifully decorated twin, double and family rooms with fabulous view over the river Tay and Birnam woods you will enjoy the comfort and intimacy of a countryside cottage with the grandeur and luxury a countryside manor! Spend time relaxing by the fireplace, reading in the library or enjoy a walk around the beautiful grounds.

The yoga room at Eastwood House is a converted living room complete with fireplace and stunning views, making it a more relaxed and intimate but just as special place to practice.
