At Edinburgh Community Yoga we are passionate about self-care at work and promote the benefits of regular relaxation throughout our city. Our approach, while based on yoga and mindfulness, is appreciative of the constraints of a modern world and is underpinned by a thorough understanding of the physiology and neuroscience of the stress response.
Whether you are a complete beginner or a seasoned practitioner, private classes give you the opportunity to focus on your individual requirements giving you greater insight and allowing you to deepen your understanding of your own practice.
Yoga therapy is a way of approaching an emotional, physical or mental health issue you may be having and using body/mind practices to assist in alleviating them. Yoga therapy meets each and every person where they are.
Edinburgh Community Yoga has been offering yoga outreach classes since 2012. We run a weekend course for teachers interested in this kind of work and also offer a four hour introduction which can be integrated into a 200 or 300 hr. teacher training program.
Our sister organisation Ayatana Yoga offers you the chance to indulge in a weekend of heart-warming, self-confirming yoga and meditation at a level to suit you; to enjoy healthy food, space to rest, recuperate and re-connect amongst stunning Scottish countryside. Our retreat timetable includes vinyasa flow and hatha yoga classes, meditation, chanting, yoga philosophy, neuroscience, workshops, yoga nidra and mindfulness.
We also run a comprehensive workplace wellbeing program offering mind/body solutions to work related pressure in high stress environments. Alongside our outreach work we also offer mainstream yoga classes and retreats and run training courses for yoga teachers interested in our outreach yoga teaching approach.
